Harry Wills, Liberal Democrat candidate for the Glenrothes by-election, was joined by Willie Rennie MP in a final push for votes before polling day. The last Westminster by-election to be held in Fife was in Dunfermline and West Fife which was won by Willie, overturning a huge Labour majority.

Harry Wills was joined by high ranking Liberal Democrats Tavish Scott MSP, Vince Cable MP and Ming Campbell MP on the campaign trail today. They were united in supporting the Post Office Card Account (POCA) in a visit to Carleton Post Office to meet sub-postmaster Rose Bowie who, like the Liberal Democrats, has consistently campaigned for the renewal of the POCA contract with the Post Office.

Alistair Carmichael MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, has accused the SNP of "failing to build for the future success of the Scottish economy". This comes as Alistair joined Harry Wills, Liberal Democrat by-election candidate, in meeting with Phillip Ritchie, Chief Executive of Lomond Group based in Glenrothes.

Reports this morning that the HBoS/Lloyds TSB merger would result in thousands of job losses have been seized on by Liberal Democrat by-election candidate. Both Harry Wills and Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP have been vocal in their criticism of Labour's failure to protect HBoS as an independent financial institution.
